The theme for this year’s NOEA Annual Convention will be ‘Who’s Looking After Who?: Safety & Responsibility at Events’, and will focus on the people and responsibilities that bring events together. In a wide-ranging event, NOEA will present a special section on the recently introduced exclusion zone – or ‘Zone X’ – as well as sessions on the health and wellbeing of on-site staff.
The date of the convention will be 27th November, and once again take place at The Guildhall, in historic Bath, and precede NOEA’s annual awards event. This year’s theme will be an evolution from last year’s, ‘It Could Never Happen to Me’, and which saw over 150 delegates convene for the day long event. Like last year, the convention theme marks a return to ‘traditional NOEA territory’ with content focused on safety and responsibilities in the industry.
“Last year’s convention was really successful, we had a great turn out and the content was incredibly good,” commented Susan Tanner, CEO, NOEA. “We had a good mixture of workshop style sessions, keynote speakers and informative panels; this year will be much the same, but with a fresh new subject of real relevance to the industry at the moment.”
“This is, at its heart, a people industry and so we need to be clear that we are looking after both our own staff, and the millions of people that visit outdoor events around the country every year,” continues Susan. “The exclusion zone is a really important subject that is going to change the way many organisers plan, so we’ll be addressing this at the event.”
Speakers and sessions will continue to be confirmed throughout the spring with the event taking place 27th November at The Guildhall, Bath, ahead of the association’s annual Awards Ceremony at The Pump Rooms, Bath, later in the evening.
