The Brighton and Hove City Council Events Team have an exciting new opportunity for a new Outdoor Events Assistant. This role is a brilliant introduction to the world of outdoor events management and facilitation.

About the role

The Outdoor Events Officer is excited to offer a brand new role of Outdoor Events Assistant. This role will provide the right candidate with an excellent introduction to the world of outdoor events in one of the UK’s most dynamic events Cities.

With responsibility for the organisational, administrative and clerical support to the Events Office, the successful candidate will ensure the maximum effectiveness of the team and its responsibilities.

Providing an initial point of contact for internal and external communications, overseeing the community events programme, to ensure good local outcomes the successful candidate will gain a core understanding of the inner workings of a diverse and evolving events landscape.

This job will include paid overtime and some weekend/evening working and comes with a generous pension package.

Administrating a busy office with events ranging from 100-70,000 participants and spanning the sports, motoring, music and cultural sectors the successful candidate for this role will need to have an eye for detail and a passion for administration.

Alongside managing the administration of the office the successful candidate will also have ample opportunities to participate in “on the ground” roles in events in the city and help to manage the wider community events programme throughout the year.

As the first point of contact for events and filming for the City the right candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience across the full range of outdoor entertainment taking place in the City and will be at the heart of co-ordinating a busy and dynamic office. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and note taking skills and will always be seeking opportunities to improve our service to City residents and event organisers ensuring a positive experience of the City events programme for everyone.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
