An exciting vacancy has arisen for an Event Officer to join our Outdoor Events team, that manage, organise and promote a culturally diverse programme of outdoor events for Brighton & Hove City Council.

About the role

Brighton and Hove City Events team are seeking a motivated new team member to join us in steering the development of the City’s outdoor events programme. With responsibility for ensuring the efficient flow of information both internally and externally, as well as having a vital role in working onsite at events as a representative of the City, this role is ideal for someone who wants to be at the heart of the City’s cultural offer.

With good rates of pay, an excellent benefits package and paid overtime this role is ideal for candidates looking to make a mark in the local events industry.

The role includes office work managing the flow of information between internal departments and external agencies and operators. Manage, organising and promoting a culturally diverse programme of outdoor events and specific focus on facilitating and overseeing commercial filming projects, which take place on the City’s public open spaces.

The successful candidate will also act as Designated Premises Supervisor (the day to day control and management of the venue) for the Council’s 16 licensed public open spaces where events with audience capacities of up to 70,000 persons take place.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
