12.30 – Keynote (2): The Future of… People

It’s no accident when events evoke powerful emotions. This session is about how they do it. But also how, in the future, we need to connect with new, slightly altered, audiences. Through a carefully crafted combination of engagement, anticipation, and optimisation strategies, and with the addition of interactive elements and storytelling.

From the perspective of promoter, sponsor, organiser, but most importantly the audience, Jules will bring to life how we can get more out of the events we’re creating.

Event Medical Association Breakout Session: 12.30 – 13.15

The session is being curated by Dr Chris Howes, Chair of the recently launched association which has been created to provide a cohesive voice for event medical providers.

The session will be a workshop aimed at developing a ‘Kite Mark’ for the sector. It will look at areas such as membership criteria, peer reviews, growing the association and working with event organisers and other groups to raise standards of medical provision across the industry.

15.00 – The Future of… Talent: Are We an Industry Worth Working In

Over the last 6 months The Power of Events has visited schools in the East of England pilot region and engaged over 6500 young people, inspiring them to see the events industry as a credible career.

Here the team behind this unique programme share what they learned from the programme, the questions they were asked, the reception they received, as well as an overview of its recently launched UK rollout into new regions. Then the expert panel discuss what the talent pool looks like in 2025, and beyond.

Students from the University of Gloucestershire will take part in a workshop discussion where we hear the anxieties, opportunities, opinions and challenges of the future of events through the eyes of its next generation of talent.

Somewhere between fun and scary, this session is all about practical action we can all take before we dive into the New Events World 2025
