The ABB FIA Formula E Championship has become the latest Futures Supporter of the National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA). The organisation, which is the world’s first fully-electric single-seater racing series and holds globally recognised motorsport events around the globe, is taking on a specialist role within NOEA, to support the association around corporate and social responsibility initiatives, as part of its futures support.
Formula E is more than just a race on the track, it’s also a proving ground and platform with a higher purpose – to test new technologies, drive development to the production line and put more electric cars on the road. In its sixth season, the organisation will host 14 races in 12 of the world’s most progressive cities, over five continents. NOEA has worked in partnership with the brand for the last five years, through its support of the association’s convention and awards, now Formula E has been asked to provide counsel and direction to NOEA on CSR issues.
“There is so much discussion around CSR and green issues at the moment, and a lot of our members are asking us for advice and direction around the rights and wrongs, as well as some of conflicting information that is out there,” commented Susan Tanner, CEO, NOEA. “Through the Futures Programme we’re able to get counsel from one of the leading voices in events industry, around these issues, and pass that on to our members.”
“NOEA asked us to come and support the association, both as a Futures Supporter, but also for insight into its CSR approach and policy, and we’re delighted to be lending a hand,” commented Richard Bates, Senior Health & Safety Manager, Formula E. “There is no finite right and wrong when it comes to trying to be more sustainable, as a business or an industry, but we work incredibly hard to get the right information and to make sure we’re leading the conversation as much as possible. We’re happy to pass this experience on to NOEA members.”
The ABB FIA Formula E Championship becomes the next Futures Supporter, following on from the announcement of See Ticket’s support earlier this year. The Futures Programme was created to allow businesses to be a part of the future of NOEA and how it represents the outdoor events industry.
